Scene: Tuesday night, walking to the bus following a post-class trip to Clyde Common. M was at Teardrop with a friend beforehand, so he’s at 5 cocktails to my two. I have been stressing out about school & worrying that carving out time for school will mean neglecting M (and others, of course, but we [...]

Loop loop loop

Looking back, it seems that I ponder, and thus write, much more when I’m feeling melancholy. And that I loop over the same damn stuff over and over. Which is probably a) dull and b) frustrating for everyone (uh, Heather and Sara).
What is it about being melancholy that inspires writing? Or is it that describing [...]

Spiral

I wish that being tired didn’t lead so often to a looping spiral of overwhelm that nearly always becomes a swirling mass of worry. Inevitably, I get caught up in mulling over one (or more) recent interactions and end up all worked up. And it almost always turns out that I’m overthinking and have made [...]

Reminders

Dinner Log

M made dinner last night, as has been the case for most nights that we’ve not gone out for the last two-three months. As usual, I provided low-skill assistance, chopping and handing things, and generally hanging out in the kitchen so that I can claim that I “helped” with dinner.
Dinner consisted of a nice spicy [...]

Upon Return

So, I’m back from Italy and Germany, back to work, and have started a new quarter. I’ve also got a bit of a cold, presumably passed from M’s roommate, to M, to me. M’s down too, and he’s significantly more ill than I am, which is fun. 1
On the plus side, everyone was healthy for [...]
